HAPPY BONFIRE NIGHT!

BONFIRE NIGHT
Bonfire night is here again at last
People by the dozens are arriving fast
The bonfire blazing lights up the sky
Rockets are soaring whizzing up high
Fireworks explode in a colour of light
Lighting up the cool dark damp night.
Catherine wheels are spinning around
Throwing pretty sparks onto the ground
The childrens faces are shining bright
Watching this colourful awesome sight
Hand held sparklers they wave to-and-fro
Laughing and cheering as they see them glow.
The smell of food is all around
Even hot chestnuts can be found
Hot-dogs, baked potatoes take your pick
Or maybe a toffee apple on a stick
Tea or hot chocolate steaming in a cup
Are given to you to help warm you up.
Now poor Guy Fawkes has burnt away
From his place at the top he has been sitting all day
The crackling fire is beginning to fade
Burnt out fireworks on the ground are laid
The smell of embers now fills the air.
But people are happy as this night they did share.,.

BONFIRE NIGHT
Bonfire night is here and the children are ready
Daddy warns them to be careful and steady
The fire is burning and lights up the sky
Guy Fawkes is on top sitting very high.
The fireworks are lit all colourful and bright
Whizzing and whirling what a beautiful sight
High up into the sky they will go
Rockets and bangers see how they glow.
The children hold sparklers high in their hand
Then let them cool off in a bucket of sand.
Then they have hot-dogs all covered in sauce
There is plenty for everyone of course
The parents stand round drinking their teas
Then someone brings round some pies and peas.
The fire is still lit and burning bright
I think everyone as had a very good night
The children are happy and have been fed
But now it is time for them to go home for bed.
